Sutton Stracke Opens Up on Her Decision to "Let Go" of Merce, Her Father, and Her Ex-Husband
RHOBH's Sutton Stracke gets emotional discussing the "three important men in [her] life."
Sutton Stracke is continuing to open up about her life before The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — particularly when it comes to three of the most "important men" she's had in her life: her father, John Brown; her ex-husband, Christian Stracke; and her longtime friend and mentor, the late dancer and choreographer Merce Cunningham.
Sutton was inspired to do so on both The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show and Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen while reflecting on her decision to spread Merce's ashes on the RHOBH cast's trip to Spain.

Why Sutton Stracke Wanted to "Let Go" of Her Ex-Husband and Father
Sutton explained why she got so emotional during RHOBH Season 13, Episode 15 on the subsequent episode of the RHOBH After Show on February 7.
"When I got Merce's ashes, it really occurred to me — this is gonna make me cry now; I don't know what's wrong with me — [there have been] three important men in my life. Merce was one of them, my father was another, and then Christian. And I had to let them go."
Sutton previously shared that her father had passed away. As for Christian, they divorced in 2016 after 16 years of marriage.
"I had to let my marriage go. And now I didn't have my dad's ashes ... [but] he was with me," Sutton added. "It was time."
Sutton Stracke Explains Her Decision to Spread Merce's Ashes in Spain
On WWHL, host Andy Cohen asked Sutton the following viewer-submitted question: "What was your reaction to seeing Kyle [Richards] on the After Show say that she never heard you say Merce's name before and you used spreading his ashes as an excuse to get a free trip to Spain?"
"Well, I think par for the course for Kyle with me," Sutton began. "I wanna say that I had an opportunity — my very good friend Trevor lives in Barcelona, so when we talked about this trip with production, I said, 'No, my really good friend lives in Barcelona,' and then I've been kinda holding onto Merce's ashes not knowing what to do with them..."
Andy then cut in to commend Sutton's choice, noting, "It was very cool."
Sutton agreed, adding, "It was a very altruistic moment for me. It was not a reason to do that — I wouldn't do that. I'm not like that."
