How to Watch

Watch Southern Charm on Bravo Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

During the Southern Charm Season 8 reunion back in 2023, Taylor opened up for the first time at length about her sister's health, and her cancer diagnosis.

"My sister is going through cancer, so losing a sister, I cannot imagine,” Taylor said during Part 1 of the Season 8 reunion, referencing how castmate Austen Kroll had dealt with the passing of his older sister, Kyle. “And, like, going through that and having to talk about it, it’s hard. It’s hard.”

Since the Season 8 reunion, Taylor has occasionally offered her fans and followers updates on how Catie is doing. Most recently, the Charm-er took to her Instagram Stories on January 16 to open up about the new treatment that her sister is receiving.

Taylor Ann Green Shares an Update on Her Sister Catie's Cancer Journey

Taylor's sister and mom spoke to ABC13 News about the new vaccine trial that Catie is part of to treat her cancer. Per ABC13 News, the vaccine is created from Catie's own tissue.

“Hard days are more of that emotional side of things, and, with this vaccine, there haven’t been any hard days," Catie said about the treatment.

Her mom, Leslie Green, added, "We lost our son unexpectedly six months ago, so, this year has been very difficult for us.” Taylor's older brother, Richard Worthington Green (aka Worth) passed away in 2023, and Leslie noted that Catie's new treatment is, as a result, even more meaningful to the family.

Taylor shared her perspective on Instagram after Catie shared her story.

"Sis is Patient Zero in a brand new cancer vaccine trial..." Taylor wrote in an Instagram Story featuring a photo of Catie receiving treatment. In another, Taylor shared a message of hope to her older sister.

"So happy to be finally sharing this [exciting] part of Catie's story," she wrote alongside another photo of Catie. "Keep kicking ass, sis."

In her third Instagram Story about Catie's health development, Taylor noted that the news was "so exciting that even [her] grandmother made her first [Instagram] Reel about it!"

"I guess you could say that we are all a little excited about this one," Taylor added.

What Type of Cancer Does Taylor Ann Green's Sister Have?

Taylor's older sister has ovarian cancer. She was first diagnosed with the disease back in 2017, and she later went into remission.

However, Catie found out that her cancer had returned in 2022, and she's been battling ovarian cancer for the second time ever since.
