Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave Opens up About Her "Bit of a Breakdown" on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
"Being accountable doesn’t mean you’re flawless," the Beverly Hills Housewife shared.
Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave showed a very vulnerable side during Tuesday night's episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Following a tense dinner during the girls' trip to Provence, Teddi opened up to Lisa Rinna about her desire to always be in control and for "everything to be great all the time."
The RHOBH accountability coach anticipated the intense episode and addressed the emotional moment prior to its airing on Tuesday. "Being accountable doesn’t mean you’re flawless, it means taking accountability for your actions. That’s where growth comes from. And I am growing every day. I’m working on giving myself mercy when I mess up rather than going down the rabbit hole of self-judgement. As long as you’re aware of your faults and try to work on them, that’s all you can do," Teddi shared on Instagram. "So next time you feel like you’ve faltered— just breathe and remind yourself that you’re human. And that life, no matter the circumstances, is a beautiful gift."
Teddi went on to say in the post that she had "a bit of a breakdown" during that night in Provence. "Some people may call out the 'know it all' for losing it, some will fully relate to it," she said. "Either way, I have my friends and family who love and support me and I will do my best to give myself grace. Because life isn’t perfect and that is OK!"
Teddi showed her gratitude toward Lisa for being a shoulder to cry on during the episode. "Thanks for the free therapy sesh tonight @lisarinna. I'm ready for another after watching the ep," Teddi tweeted Tuesday night, to which Lisa responded on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, "Love you, Teddi!"
Even though it was difficult for Teddi to watch this episode back, something positive has come out of the experience for her. "But as embarrassing as I was, I can actually learn a bit about myself. I try way too hard to be in control of everything, and I need to loosen up a bit. I don't need to be the authority on everything," Teddi wrote in her latest blog on Bravotv.com. "So Kyle [Richards] had to help me up the stairs. I'm learning that's okay."
