Can Teresa Giudice, Kathy Wakile, and Rosie Pierri Move Forward? Caroline Manzo and Siggy Flicker Weigh In
There's no easy answer to this #RHONJ debate.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is all about family drama, and some of the most heated conflicts have occurred between Teresa Giudice and her cousins, Kathy Wakile and Rosie Pierri. Even though they say there's no beef among them, it looks like tensions have been running high following Teresa's return home from prison, especially after the RHONJ trio had an icy confrontation at the author's book signing in Sunday night's episode.
So what's really going on in this family feud, and who's actually right? Caroline Manzo weighed in on the situation on Sunday night's Watch What Happens Live (clip above). "Kathy's good people, Rosie's good people, and they're doing it from their heart, so I'd like for Teresa to open up her heart and just understand that people make mistakes and say bad things that they don't mean sometimes, and I think it's time she kind of grows up and accepts them back," she told Andy Cohen.
RHONJ's resident relationship expert Siggy Flicker sees things differently. "I agree with her. I think Kathy's great, Rosie's great, but I think Teresa is even better. I'm sorry," she said during her guest appearance on WWHL with Caroline. "What people don't understand is Rosie and Kathy's mother and Teresa's father are brother and sister. And so, it starts there. There's bitterness there. So it's generations upon generations that are not getting along, and I think if right now, Teresa says, 'I don't want to have a relationship with you,' you should say, 'Fine,' back off."
The Manzo'd with Children matriarch said she believes that would have "to be for the right reason," but that's another point where she and Siggy disagree. "Well, sometimes, not everybody needs to have the right reason, and I'm sure we're gonna find out sooner or later about the right reason why she doesn't want a relationship with them," Siggy explained on WWHL. "But Kathy and Rosie are not desperate. I mean, they want their family back, but they should step back, which they are, and give Teresa her space right now. She's been through hell and back."
Kathy gave an update on her relationship with Teresa and Melissa Gorga when she stopped by Radio Andy's Reality Checked with Amy Phillips in July. "Have I talked to them? Well, I've sent them texts. Yeah, I think I've gotten a response from Melissa. I don't think I've gotten any repsonse from Teresa," she explained on the SiriusXM show.
She got emotional while reacting to Teresa telling her and her sister that she wants to "cut the cancer out" while seeming to refer to her cousins, which was featured in this season's supertease. "You know what, I found it offensive and I had to stay focused of my mission for that lunch and it wasn't to fight and she had been through so much and I wasn't going to fight," Kathy told Amy. "I have a lot of cuts in my tongue [from] constantly biting it. So I just had to put that out there, how do you even say something like that to me? You know, my father died of cancer. I have a daughter [Victoria Wakile] that has suffered two brain tumors. How do you talk like that to me? My daughter, thank God, she's great [and] she's fine; hers were benign. But how do you even talk like [that] to me? How do you say that? So, it took a lot of restraint to just keep focus of what the mission was of that lunch and it was to try and smooth things out and try and be supportive, that's all."
