So, Is There Really Any Tie Between Leah Remini's Exit from Scientology and The Arrangement?
The E! show's star, Christine Evangelista, shares her take on the theory.
As the first season of The Arrangement came to a close, Megan Morrison (Christine Evangelista) made the choice to find any way possible to expose the dangerous and mysterious cult at the center of the show's drama, The Institute for the Higher Mind. With Season 2 of the E! drama under way, fans might be wondering if there's any tie between Megan's own mission to take down the organization and her decision to expose its secrets in the same way that Leah Remini has done since she left Scientology.
Some of the cast and crew has already weighed in on the theory. Still, when The Daily Dish caught up with Christine herself, we wanted to get her thoughts on the theory — find out what she had to say in the video above.
Before The Arrangement premiered in 2017, the show had long been rumored to pay homage to Scientology with Megan's romance with Kyle West (Josh Henderson) often being compared to Tom Cruise's marriage to Katie Holmes. Well, co-star Autumn Reeser shared her thoughts on that with us last year.
"I think I understand why people are making the comparison. The show isn't based on any one person, any one relationship," she said. "It's based on this sort of aspect of a contract marriage that's been around as long as Hollywood's been around. So, that's what they're exploring. And I really think it's exploring the contract between public and private personas, which I think is so relevant right now because we're all dealing with that on social media on a daily basis. I think this is where everybody can relate to this: what's for show and what's for keeps? What's real?"
