Steve Carell's Office Revival Tweet Was a "Very Michael Scott Move," According to B.J. Novak
But it seems we have someone else from The Office to blame for the mix-up.
Steve Carell was the biggest Internet troll of them all when he jokingly tweeted that The Office would be returning to NBC, followed by a tweet saying that he made a typo and meant Will & Grace, which is actually returning to the network.
And though many Office fans were probably not laughing very much at Steve's gag, it did give us a glimmer of his beloved character once again, at least according to his former co-star B.J. Novak. "That was a very Michael Scott move of him, I think," B.J., who played Ryan Howard on The Office, said of the joke when he appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Unfortunately, B.J. dashed all of our hopes and dreams about an Office revival when he told Andy Cohen that there hasn't been any talk of the sitcom coming back. But Steve keeping the joke going on Thursday by tweeting that his account was hacked by The Office character Toby Flenderson, a.k.a. Dunder Mifflin's resident fun police a.k.a. the branch's Human Resources representative, was enough of a revival of the comedy to keep us happy for now.
Jenna Fischer dishing on her Office chemistry with John Krasinski during her appearance on WWHL last year is also worth another watch. Check it out, below.
