Tinsley Reacts to Luann de Lesseps’ Relapse

When the news that Luann de Lesseps had returned to rehab hit earlier this week, no one was more surprised than Tinsley Mortimer. The Real Housewives of New York City fashionista shared that she was "totally in shock" when she heard about her friend's struggles during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Wednesday night (clip above).

Tinsley went on to say that she was proud to see Luann come out on top after her arrest in Palm Beach, Florida last Christmas Eve, just as she had done following her own brush with the law in 2016. "I had a mugshot in Palm Beach, too, and I just feel like I turned it around, and I felt like she was doing that. I felt like the cabaret show is so amazing, and I was just so proud of her," Tinsley said. "It's just sad. I wish her the best, and I hope she can work everything out."

It was reported earlier this week that Luann had returned to rehab, just six months after she had spent 21 days at an alcohol treatment center, and that she would not be attending the RHONY Season 10 reunion taping. "It's so sad that she's not here. I feel so badly for her. I really had no idea that it is as serious, I guess, as it is, and I feel really sad for her, and I hope she gets well. And she's taking obviously the right steps to do so," Tinsley told The Daily Dish prior to filming the reunion. "A relapse happens all the time and is part of sort of the program of it. So we'll see, and hopefully she can get out of it, be happy, and be fine."

Andy Cohen also sent his support to Luann while discussing her return to rehab on his SiriusXM radio show Radio Andy Live on Monday. “[Luann is] making the decision that is healthy for herself and you can do nothing but support that,” he said, as reported by Us Weekly. “She’s been through it. We send our love to Luann and support our decision.”
