Tinsley Mortimer Explains Why She Left RHONY
During the RHONY Season 12 reunion, Tinsley reflected on her Real Housewives experience.
In the middle of Season 12 of The Real Housewives of New York City, Tinsley Mortimer stepped away from the show and the Big Apple to move to Chicago to be with Scott Kluth, who proposed shortly after she started her new life there.
During Part 1 of the Season 12 reunion, Tinsley set the record straight on why she decided to make the move and get her fairy tale ending, ultimately leaving RHONY behind.
"Scott never made me choose between him and the show," she clarified. "I knew that the show was definitely an issue for him and I knew that when we got back together, it was a decision that I had to make."
When Dorinda Medley noted they met on the show so she didn't understand his issue with Real Housewives, Tinsley responded, "It doesn't matter how I met him."
Tinsley added, "And I left because I got back together with him and I wanted to not have him and me be apart of this now and because also he lives in Chicago. It's like a little a matter of formality here, physically. Would Scott have let me, if you're saying an ultimatum or something, still film the show and finish the season out? Of course he would. But because I had just gotten back together with him, yeah I chose him over being here with everybody."
She also noted that "by the way, too, the act of me leaving New York for him and proving that that's how much I loved him, actually solidified our relationship even more."
So, how are things with Scott these days? "We're engaged; we're getting married. Everything is good," Tinsley said during the reunion.
"I'm very fortunate and blessed and I want to do a lot of things to give back," she said while discussing her next steps and how she's getting involved with pet adoption awareness and working with animal charities to shed light on the cause.
