Todd Chrisley and Daughter Lindsie Address Reports He Tried to Extort Her Over Alleged Sex Tape (UPDATED)
The Chrisley Knows Best dad faces new allegations from his estranged daughter involving two Bachelor Nation stars.
UPDATE (AUG. 22, 1:12 P.M.): Robby Hayes has since addressed the allegations that he and Todd Chrisley's estranged daughter, Lindsie Chrisley, appear in an alleged sex tape together.
“We did not make a sex tape,” he said on Housewives and Vanderpump podcast on Wednesday (August 21), according to Us Weekly. “I’m not sitting there with a camera aimed down and trying to get the angles. Like, we got caught on the security camera, basically. It was a puppy camera in her friend’s living room, the couch we crashed on.”
He added that there was “no consent from either end, which kind of debunks” her estranged father referring to the footage as a “sex tape.”
“We’re in the middle of dealing with it,” Robby said. “I was just talking with [Lindsie] this past weekend in Atlanta, two days ago.”

In the same week that he was indicted for tax evasion and other financial crimes, Todd Chrisley is now facing allegations from his daughter, Lindsie Chrisley, that he allegedly tried to extort her. He reportedly tried to extort Lindsie over an alleged sex tape and alleged past affairs with Bachelor Nation stars Robby Hayes and Josh Murray, according to reports. These allegations come one day after he and wife, Julie Chrisley, pleaded not guilty in court to a 12-count indictment on August 14; he has denied any wrongdoing in that matter.
As for the drama with his daughter, TMZ first reported that Lindsie, his daughter from a previous relationship, filed a police report in July in which she claimed that her reality TV dad and stepbrother, Chase Chrisley, were harassing her and threatening to release alleged footage footage of her if she didn't agree to lie about an "incident." Sources told TMZ that the "incident" referred to in the report is the Chrisley Knows Best patriarch's alleged tax evasion. E! News also reported on the July police report, noting that in it they "wanted her to lie about an incident and if she refused to do so, they were going to release the sex tape involving her."
Since then, Todd has released a statement to Access and E! News about the circumstances with his daughter: "It's heartbreaking and shameful that these kinds of accusations have to be aired in public. We have tried to keep Lindsie's extramarital relationships with [Bachelor Nation stars] Robby Hayes and Josh Murray private for her sake since August of 2016. Sadly, for reasons we can only guess at, she ran to the sheriff's office to accuse her brother of buying a sex tape of her and Robby, which was a complete lie, and now she's telling more lies about me. Although our hearts are broken, Lindsie is our daughter and we will always love her."
Lindsie has also addressed the matter in a statement to Access, via her lawyer, Musa Ghanayem, who said he’s “not surprised if Todd would say anything that could mitigate, discredit, intimidate, harass or influence a witness, even as brazenly as in public. I’m not even going to justify Todd’s response with a response. At this point, the way I see it, there is a person charged with a federal indictment in the Northern District of Georgia with 12 felony counts and the first thing he puts out is a [statement] about his daughter. My goal is to make sure that I protect Lindsie from the threats and attacks that she’s constantly getting… I’m not focused on the salacious nonsense that they want me to focus on when I need to focus on a just resolution and protection of my client.”
In an additional statement, Lindsie's team added previously, “It was reported that Lindsie was the source of information that led to her father’s arrest. That is untrue. She was not the source of this information. Lindsie has been a constant target of lies, harassment and threats from her family and as a result, has been distancing herself from the Chrisley family since 2017. Lindsie is currently processing the events that have unfolded. We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and pray for a just resolution. We will have more to say when the opportunity presents itself.”
While Robby, who had been previously romantically linked to Vanderpump Rules' Scheana Shay, has yet to comment on the matter, Josh said in a statement to several outlets including ET: “Lindsie and I have been friends for years. I know Todd and his family are going through some tough times right now and I pray everything works out in their favor. They should probably focus on how not to be imprisoned for 30 years rather than spreading gossip to try and hurt their daughter. I truly believe they are good people and I wish them the best in however they choose to go about their actions.”
