'Top Chef' Stars Cook for Sandy Relief
Jen Carroll, Angelo Sosa and more to help raise recovery money for storm victims.
Despite all of the destruction and tragedy that Hurricane Sandy brought to the Northeast, it also made everyone band together to help those affected by the massive storm -- and that includes a group of Top Chef stars putting their talent to good use.
On Monday night (Nov. 5) at Angelo Sosa's restaurant Añejo Tequileria (10th Avenue and 47th Street), Jennifer Carroll, Dale Talde, Kevin Sbraga and Angelo will be hosting a dinner with 100% of the proceeds going towards the Red Cross relief fund. "The devastation from this storm is heart-wrenching and we are passionate about helping those affected in the Tri-State area and beyond," Sosa said. "We are trying to do our part by helping with relief efforts the best way we know how, through food and community
support."
The four-course tasting menu will include a cocktail and costs $100, and additional cocktails are available with all of those proceeds going towards relief efforts as well. Each chef will tackle one course, and the menu is:
First Course By Angelo: Baby Carrots With Spiced White Chocolate and Mole
Second Course By Jen: Ora King Salmon With Potatoes, Kabocha Squash and Warm Squid Ink Vinaigrette
Third Course By Kevin: Crispy Chicken Thigh With Brussel Sprouts, Polenta
Fourth Course By Dale: Chocolate Pudding With Pomelo and Hazelnuts
There will be two seatings, with the first seating at 6pm and the second at 8pm. For a reservation, call Añejo at 212-920-4770, visit www.anejonyc.com, or email rsvp@anejonyc.com.
