Ariana Madix Breaks Her Silence on Split from Tom Sandoval
The Vanderpump Rules cast member thanked her friends, family, and supporters for seeing her through her “darkest hours.”
Ariana Madix is speaking out about her split from Tom Sandoval for the first time.
The Vanderpump Rules cast member took to Instagram on Thursday, March 16, to break her silence, sharing a recent photo of herself with a lengthy caption. After asking “where to begin?” Ariana wrote, “I want to express my most sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love and support i have received from friends, family, and people I’ve never even met in the last two weeks. When I have felt like I couldn’t even stand, you all have given me the strength to continue and seen me through my darkest hours.”
“To say I have been devastated and broken is an understatement,” she continued. “However, I know that I am not in this alone. So many of my closest friends are also grieving this loss right now and reeling from this betrayal on so many levels. I am so f--king lucky to have the best support system in the world and I hope I can repay every single person for the love you have shown me.”
“What doesn’t kill me,” Ariana concluded, “better run.”
The Instagram message comes just under two weeks since news broke that Ariana and Tom had broken up after being together for nearly a decade. He has since addressed his role in the split by issuing two separate statements, the first of which included an apology to those feeling “anger” or “disappointment” toward him, as well as Tom Schwartz and their business partners; and the second, an apology to Ariana herself.
“I can only imagine how devastating this has been for Ariana and everyone around us,” Tom wrote in part on March 7, just one day after he first spoke out. “I feel really horrible about that. My biggest regret is that I dishonored Ariana. I never meant to disappoint so many people, including our loving families and friends.”
Several other Vanderpump Rules cast members have reacted to the split, including Raquel Leviss. She first issued a statement to ET on March 8, which began, “I want to apologize for my actions and my choices foremost to Ariana, and to my friends and the fans so invested in our relationships. There is no excuse, I am not a victim and I must own my actions and I deeply regret hurting Ariana.”
Raquel went on to note that she’s currently working on herself and “speaking to a counselor” to “understand my behavior and make healthier choices.”
In a separate statement — this one shared to Instagram later that same day — Raquel addressed her alleged situation with Tom, adding, “I need to take care of my health, work on my self-growth and take time to be ok with being alone. I care for Tom and I don’t want to label anything or predict what lies ahead. Right now I need to heal.”
As Ariana also continues to heal, Katie Maloney made sure to give fans an update on how her friend is doing during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on March 15. Hear from her in the above video.
