Even though Ariana Madix’s birthday was in June, the Vanderpump Rules cast member is now reflecting on that time in her life. Belatedly sharing photos from her celebratory bash on Instagram, she also reflected on the ups and downs she’s experienced since then.

“I never posted anything for my birthday months ago and now it’s wild to look at these photos because so much has changed,” Ariana, who mentioned “some good and some bad” news, captioned her August 31 post. “But that’s life I suppose! I’m just happy to be here! And my friends are gorgeous in every way.”

Those “gorgeous” friends who celebrated with her at Belles Beach House included Vanderpump RulesCharli Burnett and boyfriend Tom Sandoval.

After several followers referred to the caption as “cryptic” in the comments, Ariana clarified that there is “nothing cryptic about it.” She also elaborated that she wasn’t referring to anything that she hasn’t already shared over the past several months.

As fans continued to ask about her “sad life changes,” Ariana offered more clues, explaining that she’d already “gone into detail” on her Earth to Ariana podcast, but was “not ready to type it out” yet. Eventually, she directed commenters to the August 16 episode in which she revealed that her 18-year-old dog, Charlotte York, had died.

On her podcast, she shared that her chihuahua, husky, and chow chow mix “crossed the rainbow bridge” on August 2. “We had to say goodbye to my soulmate, my kindred spirit, my best friend, my [dire wolf], my Pokémon, my favorite creature that ever lived,” Ariana said. “We’re really going to miss her every single day.”

She and Tom still have their pit bull mix, Mya Moon, whom they rescued in April 2020. The following month, she revealed in an Instagram post that the pup was “terrified” of Tom at first, but within a couple of weeks, she was sleeping on top of his head and snoring loudly. “I’m so proud of my little fam,” Ariana wrote.

Meanwhile, in happier news, Ariana and fellow Vanderpump Rules cast member Raquel Leviss, were both bridesmaids when Scheana Shay married Brock Davies in Mexico on August 23. Though it was just weeks after she lost Charlotte, the happy occasion provided an opportunity for her to let loose. As seen in her and Raquel’s Instagram Stories, they turned the special occasion into a girls’ night, sharing a Polaroid of themselves taking shots while the afterparty was in full swing.
