With Season 16 of Bravo's Top Chef ready to bring the judges, cheftestants, and viewers on a culinary tour of Kentucky, The Daily Dish decided to get one of the Bluegrass State's very own, Brittany Cartwright, to explain what makes her home state unique — and more importantly, delicious.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Peacock and the Bravo app.

"Kentucky food is so good. It's so much better than L.A. food. Every time my family comes to visit L.A., they feel like there's nothing to eat," she shared. "But [in] Kentucky, the food is so soulful and it's just so good. There's so much flavor."

So, what kinds of dishes make Kentucky oh-so-special? Let the Vanderpump Rules SURver explain: "Kentucky hot browns are a really popular thing. That's gravy and bacon and tomato on toast. It's all smothered. It's delicious, cheesy. It's something that's very popular in Kentucky. Beer cheese is super popular in Kentucky. That's something that I love and my Mamaw's beer cheese is a huge thing for us." (Fans might remember how important it is to Britt's family from Vanderpump Rules Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky.)

All in all, Brittany noted, "There's a lot of great Kentucky foods. It tastes really good. People can still eat healthy and live in Kentucky, of course, but when it comes to home cooking, we know how to do it. BBQ's a big thing. I love biscuits and gravy. I like all the really Southern cooking, food [like] broccoli casserole — all that good stuff."

Sounds pretty good to us.

Bravo's Top Chef premieres on Thursday at 9/8c.

It's a Kentucky Derby Party!
