What Ally Lewber Finds “Really Weird” About the Vanderpump Rules Friend Group

Plus, find out what Ally wants her boyfriend, James Kennedy, to “get over.”

By Allison Crist

Ally Lewber has spent this season of Vanderpump Rules attempting to acclimate to her boyfriend James Kennedy’s group of friends, but as she pointed out on the show’s April 26 episode, there’s one minor roadblock: his ex-fiancée, Raquel Leviss

How to Watch

That’s not to say that the Season 10 newcomer has a personal problem with Raquel, though. In fact, as she told Scheana Shay, “We can be cordial and get along, but I don’t really see us being besties.”

Elaborating in a confessional interview, Ally explained, “In my friend group, it’s not really normal to see an ex. Usually, you break up with that person and then you never see them again. But then in this friend group, you’re looking around and you’re just like, it’s nothing but exes. It’s really weird.”

Weird or not, the dynamic is certainly a recipe for disaster, as evidenced by the group’s beach outing. One minute Ally and Raquel were sharing an awkward conversation about her and James’ relationship, and the next, James was throwing a drink in Tom Schwartz’s face because of a comment he made about Raquel.

Schwartz, more specifically, cracked a joke about James’ “Rachella’-themed proposal just as he was talking about how excited he was for an upcoming DJ set. “This is a big deal,” Schwartz said of the news. “Bigger than Rachella?”

Reacting in a confessional, James said, “It’s like, let’s remind you of the darkest time you went through last year, and let’s put that in the same sentence as the happiest thing that you worked hard on your entire life to get to.”

Schwartz (who, to add more context to the tension, also just made out with Raquel) admitted it was a “bad joke,” but James’ mind was made up at that point, so he threw the drink. Ally, meanwhile, stormed off, upset with the continued drama involving Raquel.

“I think I’ve been so trusting that everything [James] is telling me he means, and that he has moved on, and that he does love me and that he’s ready, but then it’s so hard to believe that when you see actions like this,” Ally told the Vanderpump Rules cameras. “It’s like, get over it. Or don’t get over it, but then don’t have a new girlfriend.”

Tom Schwartz Declares He Has "No Sexual Chemistry" With Raquel Leviss

James, however, insisted that his reaction to Schwartz’s joke had “nothing really to do with Raquel.” Added the DJ, “I just wish for once this group would honestly just be genuinely happy for me instead of throwing these low-blow digs in my face.”

Unfortunately for the group, the day’s drama was only getting started. Get a full recap of the April 26 episode’s feuds.
