Lala Kent is "ready to be a healthy person" after she gave up drinking and smoking. When the Vanderpump Rules SURver sat down with PEOPLE she revealed that she's 50 days sober (and on December 17's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, she revealed she's now 56 days sober). "We're just kind of taking a different turn with our life," she said, adding, "I'm a clean baby."

How to Watch

Lala opened up more about her drinking in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan in which she shared that after her father died earlier this year, she was relying on drinking to deal with her issues. "Drinking for me was medication instead of celebration. Instead of going and talking to somebody about losing someone extremely important to you, we turn to things to medicate. I just want to make sure that I put my voice out there to say, reach out to someone, reach out to a grief counselor, partner with someone who can make you feel like you’re not by yourself and going completely insane. Because when you lose someone," she told the publication. "I’ve never had this type of heartache in my whole life, and it’s foreign."

She noted that "I am actually, for real now, completely sober. I’ve never been happier. So I know it’s something I’ll have to deal with on a day-to-day basis, but it’s the right decision for me."

She also credited her man, Randall Emmett, for supporting her. "My fiancé always says I have this sixth sense where I know when things have gotten to a point where they need to change, so I can’t really pinpoint one incident," she told Cosmo. "When I really came to the conclusion that I am in that zone of having a problem, I just said enough’s enough. I picked up the phone, I called this sponsor that had been recommended to me. It’s the best decision of my whole life."
