Tom Sandoval Makes Surprising Confessions About Schwartz’s Divorce & Friendship with Katie
On WWHL, Sandoval shared why Schwartz’s split “hit me pretty hard,” and he had an update on his friendship with Katie.
During the Vanderpump Rules Season 10 premiere, viewers got plenty of insight into Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney’s 2022 divorce. Katie revealed that she never felt like a “priority” to her now-ex and that the two dealt with “a lot of issues” throughout their marriage.
While Schwartz acknowledged that he didn’t know how to make Katie happy, his longtime best friend, Tom Sandoval, also took some responsibility for the dissolution of the marriage.
On the February 8 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Toms opened up about how working together on their restaurant/lounge, Schwartz & Sandy’s, affected Schwartz’s relationship.
Host Andy Cohen read off a fan question asking Sandoval if he felt any “responsibility” for Schwartz’s divorce, and the Fancy AF Cocktails co-author said, “Maybe.”
“I did feel a little bit that way, in the moment,” Sandoval admitted, before revealing that he was actually caught off guard by Schwartz and Katie’s divorce. “I mean, it hit me pretty hard. I was very surprised by it and very saddened by it.”
Tom Schwartz didn’t think his bestie had anything to do with his split. He admitted that, when the split first happened, he “scapegoated” Schwartz & Sandy’s for putting a strain on his marriage.
“Ultimately, it was my fault,” Schwartz said.
While Schwartz doesn’t think his best friend and business partner had anything to do with his divorce, does Katie hold any resentment toward Sandoval?
On the WWHL After Show, Sandoval revealed whether he’s still on good terms with Katie. Hear his answer (and learn why Andy doesn’t exactly “believe that”) by watching the video below.
