Tom Schwartz Shares What He Doesn’t Want Katie & Satchel to Do After Katie Weighs In on Jo
The Vanderpump Rules exes have thoughts about the people they’ve each been spending time with.
Just like the Vanderpump Rules viewers at home, Tom Schwartz is also just getting to know Katie Maloney’s love interest, Satchel Clendenin. We were introduced to him on the April 19 episode of Vanderpump Rules, and he’s set to pop up again on the upcoming April 26 episode to hang with the group during a beach day. And we’re hearing from Tom what he thinks of his ex’s new, um, friend.
“Maybe it’s a little masochistic, but I ran through some hypothetical men I could see Katie dating, and Satchel wasn’t one of them,” he says in an interview in the episode (clip above). “I think I handled [meeting him] really well, but I think I had a little moment, and it just like flashed in front of me, where I see him waking up with Katie. And then [our dogs] Gordo and Butters are snuggling in there with them, and it just breaks my f--king heart. Have all the sex you want, that’s fine, but don’t bring the dogs in the bed.”
As it turns out, Katie previously expressed her own take on Jo Wenberg, the woman Tom has been living with, in an interview featured on the April 19 episode of Vanderpump Rules. After chatting with Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix about Schwartz’s situation, she revealed her opinion on the woman in her ex’s life, sharing that it was “weird” he was living with her and they didn’t really tell anyone.
From there, she explained that Jo has a deep connection to the group, adding, “The last text Jo sent me after Tom and I announced our divorce was her saying she will always love and respect me. And the fact that she moved in with my ex two seconds later, she’s that kind of bitch.”
Since the season was filmed, Tom revealed an update on where he stands with Jo today. “We’re not living together [anymore] and we’re not dating either,” he explained to Us Weekly. “But she’s just someone who I appreciate on a deep level, and she’s a really cool human being, and we’re just hanging out.”
Katie and Tom finalized their divorce in October 2022, six months after they confirmed the news that they were divorcing.
Prior to their split, the couple was always open with viewers about their relationship and shared their ups and downs with fans over the course of their time together, much of which was documented on Vanderpump Rules. The good, of course, included when Tom proposed to Katie in Season 4. They later married in 2016, and their wedding was shared with viewers during Season 5.
