Tom Schwartz Speaks Out on the Katie Maloney and Raquel Leviss “Fan Girl” Drama
The Vanderpump Rules cast member weighed in on the back-and-forth, which began when Katie labeled Raquel a “fan girl.”
Tom Schwartz is ready to give his take on the online war of words that Katie Maloney and Raquel Leviss recently engaged in.
“I stay out of it,” the Vanderpump Rules cast member told Us Weekly on Saturday, November 5. “I care for Raquel a lot and Katie’s my girl. I love her. We spent more than a quarter of my life together, so I have a lot of respect and love for her. But she can be very reactive and I haven’t had a lot of time to process that yet.”
Addressing Katie’s specific comment about Raquel being “a fan girl” of him and Tom Sandoval — prompted by her wearing a Tom Tom sweatshirt at BravoCon 2022 — Schwartz said he didn’t find it to be “a fair assessment of Raquel,” adding, “She just supports us and is a champion for both Sandoval and myself. I wouldn’t say she was a fan girl, I never felt that way. I felt it was authentic and sincere.”
Raquel expressed a similar sentiment after Katie made the remark, writing on Instagram, “I admit… I am a fan of the [Toms].” Then, replying to a comment asking if Raquel meant Tom Tom or Tom Schwartz himself — since she was rumored to be “making out” with him at Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ August wedding in Mexico — Raquel replied, “I’m definitely a fan of the restaurant… best vibe, food and drinks in WeHo in my opinion. But I’m also a fan of Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval!! Here to support their business endeavors.”
After Raquel issued her response, other Vanderpump Rules cast members came to her defense, including Sandoval. He took a humorous approach to the situation by dressing up as Raquel for Halloween, complete with a wig and a Tom Tom sweatshirt (the same one Raquel was sporting when Katie called her a “fan girl”).
Ariana Madix and Scheana also defended Raquel. “Tom SANDOVAL gave one to all of us to wear to the show and we all wore them to support,” Ariana wrote on Instagram. “Now this drama is happening and sales of the hoodie are way up[,] so thanks to everyone I guess for making this a thing!”
Scheana reiterated that the hoodies were a gift, writing in an Instagram comment, “There are two Toms here. We were both given hoodies at Sandoval’s show the night before. She was supporting her friends and rocking their merch that they were selling at BravoCon.”
