Countess Luann is speaking up for all women on her new single, "Girl Code." The Real Housewives of New York star dished all about her latest ditty to the Daily Dish when we stopped by the set of the music video for the song of the summer.
After debuting the song on Watch What Happens Live last week, Luann got to work on the music video. So, what is her definition of "girl code"? Pay close attention, folks!
"Girl code is just an unspoken code that women don’t break," she said. "You don’t cross the line, you don’t steal a woman’s husband, you don’t steal her boyfriend. Girls will know around the universe what the girl code means. It means you break that special bond. You do something that breaks the bond, that crosses the line. I was inspired by things that happened to me recently, so I decided to write 'Girl Code.'”
Luann was definitely inspired by real-life events when it came time to penning the lyrics to the song, which served as a catharsis for the RHONY star. "The whole thing just stemmed from what happens in the show, and I thought it was important," she shared. "It was a way for me to release this kind of anger I had about what happened. It’s therapeutic for me — music. I hope it inspires girls to not break the girl code."
