West Reflects on Breaking Up with Ciara: "I Hope That Decision Doesn’t Haunt Me"
Summer House's West Wilson said he regretted how he handled his split with Ciara Miller, but believes he made the right decision.
Are West Wilson and Ciara Miller getting back together? Judging by the former's recent comments, it seems very unlikely.
Although Ciara hasn’t closed the door on rekindling her romance with West, the Summer House newbie suggested that their romance had no future. West explained his position in a June 12 interview with the New York Times, saying he regretted his handling of the messy breakup but was confident he made the right decision.
“Ultimately I think I handled the reunion horribly and was nervous and said the wrong things,” West said about his tense exchanges at the Summer House Season 8 reunion. “But I still stand on the decision I made. I think our relationship ran its course. I hope that decision doesn’t haunt me forever, even though I still think it’s the right one.”

West was introduced to Ciara in 2023 when he joined the Summer House Season 8 cast. The Missouri-raised sports journalist and former ICU nurse were immediately smitten with one another and developed a close bond in the Hamptons.
The two later confirmed that their romance continued after cameras went down late last summer, as Ciara visited West’s family in Missouri, accompanied him to a friend’s wedding, and eventually slept with him after a series of will-they-won't-they moments. But as cuffing season came to a close, West decided to break up with Ciara for “show-related reasons.”
West explains why he broke up with Ciara
West touched on those reasons in the Summer House Season 8 reunion, saying he didn’t want to look like “some f-cking dude who came onto the show and is just Ciara’s puppet the whole time.” He also expressed concern over the Bravo fanbase, claiming it would be a bad look “to go to these watch parties with women” while dating Ciara.
“I don’t think it was right to place the end of the relationship on those things,” he told the Times. “I think I would’ve read more honest if I was just like, the relationship ran its course, I don’t think we were meant to be together, that’s it. I think me trying to deflect the actual relationship and name all these external things really made me sound like an idiot.”
Ciara admits she still has feelings for West
West ultimately apologized to Ciara in Part 2 of the Season 8 reunion, saying he regretted how everything played out.
“My feelings were genuine,” he said. “I think I just expressed myself maybe too late after it was too late to figure things out. But I’m sorry, overall, for hurting you. Obviously, it’s still painful. It’s painful for me too … It’s my fault.”
Host Andy Cohen then asked Ciara if she would ever consider taking West back.
“It would have to be a world of change or something,” she responded. “And I just don’t know what people are capable of. I mean, I’m not holding my breath for anyone. I can’t sit here and say that I don’t still like him.”
