We Now Know What Jackie Goldschneider Did with That Dagger Gift from Jennifer Aydin
The so-called "shady dagger" is a piece of The Real Housewives of New Jersey history.
Jennifer Aydin returned from her trip to Turkey bearing gifts for The Real Housewives of New Jersey ladies in Wednesday night's episode... but one of the Garden State gals was disappointed to learn that her present didn't come with a gift receipt.
When Jackie Goldschneider opened up her gift bag on the bus as the gang made their way to their day at a winery, she was surprised to find a knife inside. Jennifer told her that it was "an ancient Turkish dagger that people use when they wanted to stab people in the back." She then quipped, "So I figured I could give you something tangible so the next time I could see it coming."
As you can see, Jennifer was still pretty upset over that article Jackie wrote that referenced her children and her opulent home. "I don't want your passive aggressive gifts, either," Jackie said before returning the gift to Jennifer. The two tossed the present back-and-forth, until Jackie finally ended up keeping it.
And now we can officially confirm that Jackie did, in fact, keep the dagger. However, she's hoping someone will take it off her hands. The RHONJ writer has put what she refers to as the "shady dagger" up for auction online with all of the proceeds going to the Center for Food Action in Englewood, New Jersey. "The one and only DAGGER that Jennifer Aydin 'gifted' me from Turkey!" Jackie described the item on its eBay page. "Now you can own a piece of Real Housewives history AND you can even re-gift this SHADY weapon to your frenemy of choice!"
Here's hoping that Jackie and Jennifer can both agree that at least some good is going to come from all their drama.
Jennifer explained during The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 9 After Show how she came across the dagger in the first place. "When I went to the Grand Bazaar in Turkey, we went to a store that had all these Turkish daggers, and a Turkish dagger is referenced to a lot in pop culture in the music as a way of stabbing someone in the back," she said in the above clip. "And when I saw it, it was actually very beautiful."
But Jennifer also admitted that she wanted to get a rise out of Jackie since they had unresolved issues over that article. "I thought it would be a funny dig towards her by giving her the dagger," she shared. "At the end of the day, I wanted to make a statement that the article still bothered me because we hadn't really talked it through at that point. We spoke a little bit about it at Melissa's son's party, and then on the bus when I was giving everybody my gifts, I felt it was a great way to let her know that I'm not over it."
