In the weeks since the Southern Charm Season 9 finale, the series creator/friend has spent much of his time living it up in London. Although his social media posts are relatively few and far between, the George Washington University alum returned to Instagram this month to provide a quick update on his post-Season 9 life.

Whitney Sudler-Smith takes fans inside his night at the BAFTAs

On February 19, Whitney posted a series of pictures from his night at the British Academy Film Awards, better known as the BAFTAs. The carousel included backstage snaps at the ceremony as well as a few photos from the star-studded awards show dinner at the Royal Festival Hall.

“Fun night at the [BAFTAs],” he captioned the post, which showed him rocking a black sequin blazer, black trousers, and a black button-up.

Whitney’s mom, Southern Charm’s Patricia Altschul, took to the comments section with a quick question about the guest list.

“Was Prince William there?” she asked. “He was last year.”

Whitney didn’t respond under the post, but several outlets confirmed the Prince of Wales was, in fact, at the event.

Whitney Sudler-Smith shares another peek at his Charleston cottage

More than a week before the awards ceremony, Whitney uploaded a picture of him lounging with his dog Peaches as well as the dog of Charleston newscaster Hanna Powers. The photo was taken at the Isaac Jenkins Mikell House — the gorgeous Charleston home owned by his mom, Patricia

“Holding court,” Whitney captioned the post, which showed him dressed to the nines with the pups by his side and a drink in one hand. Whitney credited his dapper look to Atelier Arena — a bespoke tailoring brand located in London.

Judging by the decor, the photo was taken inside Whitney's newly renovated cottage on his mother’s property. The space was previously occupied by Patricia’s former butler, Michael Kelcourse, who retired in 2021 after suffering an acute spinal cord stroke. Michael moved to a Flordia rehabilitation center shortly after and kept in contact with Patricia via Zoom. They finally reunited in late 2023, when Patricia traveled to the Sunshine State.

“First there was Covid.. then my back fracture,” she wrote in a December 14 Instagram post. “So this is the first I’ve ever been able to spend time with Michael.”

Michael, who worked for Patricia for nearly two decades, reflected on the reunion in the comments section: “Mrs. A visiting was the greatest gift I ever got.”
