Kelly Bensimon Explains Her Connection to The Rangers — and If Luann de Lesseps Is Going to a Game
Kelly Bensimon says The New York Rangers have a special place in her heart.
Yes, Kelly Killoren Bensimon will soon take Luann de Lesseps out to the hockey game.
The fellow Real Housewives of New York City alums spoke to the Daily Dish about the Rangers games Kelly frequents and Luann’s desire to go.

The duo were joined by Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Kristen Taekman, and Dorinda Medley for the latest season of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy. The St. Barts vacay was packed with excursions and group meals that served up plenty of dramatic moments.
While the group enjoyed cocktails one night of the trip, Luann decided to “go there” and question why Kelly hasn’t brought her to a New York Rangers hockey game yet.
“How many times have you invited me to the Rangers game? How many?” Luann asked on the show.
“I’m not allowed to,” Kelly said during the exchange. “I’m not allowed to invite anyone.”
Luann stressed Kelly knew she was “dying” to go the Rangers games, but Kelly initially responded they weren’t her tickets to give out.

Now, the Countess is going to get her wish.
“Luann’s coming,” Kelly told the Daily Dish. “[We] got a date on the calendar. I’m very excited … It’s going to be fun. We’ll have to take a photo.”
Why does Kelly Bensimon go to so many Rangers games?
Before making multi-million dollar deals as a real estate agent, Kelly worked as an Editor at Elle Accessories. During her time working at the magazine, she was invited to Madison Square Garden to attend a Rangers game and has never looked back.
“I’ve been going to the Ranger games since 2004 when I was at Elle Accessories,” Kelly said. “Anything at Madison Square Garden is obviously just like such a huge treat, you know? It’s an iconic stadium with the best teams …the Knicks and the Rangers. Obviously, the best musicians and performers are there as well.”
Although Kelly will soon be married to fiancé Scott Litner, she mentions being a single parent to her two daughters as another reason she loved going to Rangers games over the years. (Kelly and her ex-husband Gilles Bensimon divorced in 2007.)
“I started going there because, you know, they asked me and my girls were really young at the time,” Kelly said. “I wanted my girls to have … like a really, well-rounded upbringing that included sports … I have a twin brother and my parents used to take us to hockey and basketball games.”
