Here's Why Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux Wasn't at the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Reunion Taping
The deckhand explained his absence during a separate one-on-one conversation with Andy Cohen.
As the Parsifal III crew gathered virtually for the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 reunion, one yachtie was noticeably absent: Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux.
Host Andy Cohen explained why the deckhand wasn't able to reunite with his crewmates during Part 1 of the reunion, which aired on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on June 21. "Well, we are missing Jean-Luc," he said. "Jean-Luc is currently on charter, and he can't join us today."
Andy later spoke to Dani Soares about her relationship with JL and everything that happened after the charter season, including her pregnancy, during Part 2 of the reunion, which aired on June 22. The stew shared her disappointment over JL not being there to speak on the matter. "I wish he was at this reunion, because I don't want, I'm just telling my side of the story, and I wish he was here to defend himself or to say what he thinks," Dani said. "Because as much as everything he did, I don't think it is as fair that I'm just saying all this, and he's not being able to say anything."
However, Andy was able to connect with JL following that reunion taping. It was explained during Part 2, "Five days after the reunion was recorded, Jean-Luc found time in his work schedule to speak with Andy."
JL spoke to Andy from Mexico, and he shared why he wasn't able to make the reunion with the rest of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew. "It was really unfortunate. I did want to be there, but I had a charter, and it was our primary's daughter's birthday," he said. "So basically, one of the biggest days of the whole charter that I could not take time off for. I just couldn't."
Andy would go on to speak with JL about Dani, including whether he is the father of her child and his response to the comments made by her and the rest of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew during the reunion. Watch part of Andy's conversation with JL, above.
