Big Brother Winner Taylor Hale Has the Perfect Real Housewives Tagline
Plus, hear the important question Andy Cohen had for the WWHL guest bartender about her boyfriend, Joseph Abdin.
Expect the unexpected. When Big Brother Season 24 winner Taylor Hale hopped behind the Clubhouse bar on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday, November 13, her beverage of choice seemed to be tea — of the piping-hot variety, no less.
Before she spilled all the behind-the-scenes Big Brother deets, though, she had to set the scene with the perfect Real Housewives tagline: “When you treat people like a game, don’t be surprised when you get played.”
WWHL host Andy Cohen didn’t waste much time before asking about her budding romance with her Big Brother castmate turned boyfriend, Joseph Abdin. As for who “made the first move,” the former Miss Michigan USA admitted, “I would definitely say I was flirtier in the house, but the night of the finale, he was the first one to kiss me.”
In the months following her hard-fought September victory, Taylor — the first Black woman to win a regular season of Big Brother — has stayed booked and busy, but she and Joseph still found time for their relationship, which they officially confirmed on November 9. When Andy asked if they are living together, or even in the same city, she said she knew that question “was coming.”
“I knew as soon as we announced, it’s like, ‘OK, when are you getting your eight-carat ring, Taylor?’” she joked. “We are still in separate cities. I’m in Detroit, he’s in Florida, but I travel because, I don’t know, I’m really effing popular right now, so we’re comfortable…”
Things in the Big Brother house this past summer were far from comfortable for Taylor, though. Aside from withstanding rampant bullying and misogyny, she also had to deal with being at the center of racism accusations against castmate Kyle Capener. So when Andy asked where Taylor stands with Kyle today, her answer might surprised some viewers.
“I talk to Kyle all the time,” she shared on the WWHL After Show. “Kyle’s a really good friend of mine, and what I really appreciate about him is that before he left the house, we had the opportunity to really dive deep into why racist ideas came into his mind. And he was able to make those amends before he left the house… I love him to death.”
In the video above, see more of what Taylor had to say about her “epic” finale speech, the biggest lesson she learned during an “ugly” season, and whether her mom is “still mad” at fellow houseguest Terrance Higgins.
