Xscape Is Recording New Music, But Kandi Burruss Isn't Participating
Kandi reveals the reason why she won't be making new music with the group.
The tension is thick in the air on Xscape Still Kickin' It as the members of the popular '90s R&B group navigate a handful of reunion performances and the possibility of going on tour and releasing new music. The tour kicks off on November 22 and new music will follow — minus the participation of one key member.
"They are doing new music," Kandi Burruss revealed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (clip above).
Viewers learned in the first episode of the new series that the current reunion was predicated on putting a 10-year-old ugly feud between Kandi Burruss and Tamika Scott to rest (and Tamika publicly apologizing to Kandi on Atlanta radio), but an awkward exchange between Kandi and Tamika on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen shows that the pain is still fresh.
"Jermaine and I hooked up, but that's not why the group broke up," Kandi said. "You said that I hooked up with Jermaine's dad, and that's absolutely not true."
When pressed as to what Kandi planned to do instead of participating in recording new Xscape songs, she added, "I'm going to be doing Broadway and some other things, and they're going to be doing new music."
"But everything's okay, right?" Andy Cohen asked.
