Emily Ratajkowski's Exact Diet Is Rather Surprising for Someone Who's Often Nearly Naked on Instagram
Your mileage may vary.
Emily Ratajkowski has the sort of physique that would suggest incredible discipline in the kitchen and in the gym — and she makes that physique extremely public on her skin-filled Instagram feed. But Harper's Bazaar Australia asked the super lean model what fuels her days and the answers are rather surprising.
She explained that she stays active by hiking and doing yoga, and she cooks a lot so she knows how much salt or sugar is going into a lot of her food.
"I like to keep it really balanced to give my body energy and also be healthy," she ventured.
But she also admitted that she starts most days by ordering a coffee and a kouign-amann, an indulgent pastry made of layers of dough laminated with butter and sugar that's like a croissant on overdrive because croissants only have butter between each layer. She knows that's a little bit of a naughty habit.
"I always pretend that I don't know what I'm getting," she joked. "I'm like, 'Um, hmm, I guess I'll get… a kouign-amann?' They're like, 'Uh-huh.'"
She fills most lunch days with a sandwich or salad. "If I'm on set, I'll have catering, but I'm well behaved with that stuff. It's easy to go crazy — they know how to feed you," she said.
And dinner is often at a restaurant as a social occasion with friends; a favorite is the rich Italian menu at Bestia in downtown Los Angeles.
The hidden ingredients helping her diet make sense (and those social media pics pop)? Her family genes.
Which... obviously.
