Kelly Clarkson Slams Rumors Her Weight Loss Is the Result of "Weird" Pills or Fad Diets: "Fake News"
The Voice host Kelly Clarkson has responded directly to rumors surrounding her diet and weight loss.
Last summer, Kelly Clarkson revealed that she lost 37 pounds, without exercise, thanks to The Plant Paradox, a book by cardiac surgeon Steven R. Gundry. She also claimed the method helped her stabilize a thyroid issue she was dealing with.
But now, rumors are swirling that The Voice coach is dropping weight by taking diet pills — or by doing extreme diets. And on May 16, she took to Twitter to dispel those rumors personally, and head on.
She tweeted: "Other fake news that’s going around about me is that I’ve been taking weird pills 4 weight loss or doing weird fad diets. All of this is not true. I ain’t got time 4 all that."
Specifically, she cited Dr Gundry's diet for her progress, writing, "I eat the same stuff I always have. It’s all just made w/different flours/sugars/ingredients. #DrGundry”
Gundry's diet is controversial, and it has many critics. Last year, Dr. Gundry spoke to The Feast to defend, and further explain, his method.
