Why Is Twitter Freaking Out Over Kourtney Kardashian's "Signature Salad" Recipe?
Kourtney Kardashian's salad recipe went live with her new site Poosh.
When Kourtney Kardashian launched her new website, Poosh this week, she celebrated with a very festive (pink, glittery, sugary, Instagram-friendly) box of donuts. But contained within Poosh's pages is a nod to another food — rather less festive, you might say — that is stirring up a whole pot of controversy on social media.
The meal in question is "Kourt's Signature Salad," which she says she makes "pretty much every day" even though, she admits, "I can't cook." Kourtney shared the full recipe on Poosh for the 15-minute, five-ingredient meal, which includes avocado, two hard-boiled eggs, a tomato, and fresh mozzarella balls, plus salt, pepper, and olive oil. No greens — and no additional dressing.
Mainly, fans wanted to know: How is this plate of food a "salad?"
One critic tweeted, "I just need everyone to understand my feelings about her 'signature salad.' This is not a salad. Thank you for your time."
Others noted that the recipe seemed to lack the necessary ingredients for robust flavor. A user tweeted, "She deserves to look that good. Ain’t no way in hell."
And it's not just amateurs that weighed in with... concerns. The Washington Post noted that the so-called salad triggered more than a few eyebrow-raising thoughts: "We have questions."
We've long known that the Kardashians love their salads — but perhaps none has ever been so controversial.
