It's been a half year since we first met Andy King, producer of the doomed Fyre Festival, and learned just how far he would go for a drink. Specifically, he'd been willing to trade oral sex for $175,000 worth of Evian water bottles trapped at customs, according to a story he intoxicatingly deadpanned in Netflix's documentary — and his earnestness and eye-popping loyalty made him the subject of a million memes.
King is the antihero you never knew you needed in your life, and you're still thinking about him. You still care. You're thirsty for more Andy King. Ryan Reynolds knows this, and he is exploiting it to sell his Aviation Gin. And hey, it's working! Because we're suddenly very thirsty...
On his Instagram today, Reynolds shared a new ad for Aviation starring King — and toasting to people who would go that far for what they want.
The new spot also happens to coincide with the launch of a signature, limited edition Aviation Gin bottle — perfect, so a press release promoting it goes, as a Father's Day gift the Dad in your life who's always willing to go the extra mile! If that sounds like a dubious connection, there's another compelling reason to buy it, too.
Reynolds and King are donating a portion of all proceeds for the limited-edition bottle to the Exuma Foundation for those harmed by the Fyre Festival.
So guys, gals, thirsty people, festival producers, anyone "fully prepared" (as King said in his viral clip) to go out on a limb when duty calls — this is the gift that keeps on giving.
King's fame had triggered some water companies to come calling months ago, hoping to get King as their pitch man. And now he's proving that he's seen all the memes, he loves the Internet right back — and he's very much laughing with us.
Watch the spot and enjoy... cheers!
