Now We Know Why Kyle Richards Got an 18 Tattooed on Her Wrist
After lots of questions about the meaning behind the RHOBH cast member’s new tattoo, her daughter Alexia Umansky explained.
Last month, Kyle Richards debuted two new tattoos on her wrists — a heart and a Roman numeral 18 — and people had lots of questions. Fans on Instagram wanted to know if the tattoos were real (Kyle assured they are), if they were new (she confirmed this as well), and what the number 18 symbolized. Now we finally have an answer to the third question.
One of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member’s daughters took to her own social media to explain. “All my sisters have 18 in their birthday,” Alexia Umansky wrote. “That being said, it’s our family’s lucky number.” Another meaning behind the digits: “In the Jewish religion, ‘18’ can be translated into ‘life’/‘chai.’ A lot of times, people gift money or donate in multiples of 18 because it’s believed to be good luck.” Mystery solved!
It also turns out that Kyle isn’t the only one in her brood who decided to make their dedication to the number permanent. Alexia also got an 18 tattoo on her upper arm. She shared a photo of the new ink on her Instagram Stories along with the explanation.
Aside from the tats, Kyle has been branching out with her style quite a bit lately. She chopped bangs into her hairstyle in 2020 (for her role in Halloween Kills) and admitted that people had “strong feelings” about her new look. In 2021, an out-of-character manicure — neon yellow stiletto claws, to be exact — had her asking herself, “Who am I??” And just last week, the actress showed off a stunning brighter new hair color. She said, “I thought I needed a change to lighten my mood.”
