Lisa Rinna hasn't had the best experience with lip filler. During the early stages of her career, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills "lip pioneer" got permanent silicone lip filler, which over time led to some concerning side effects, as well as critiques. In 2010, Lisa underwent reconstructive lip surgery by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Garth Fisher to remove the filler, which had caused damaged lip tissue. "I was crazy to even touch them in the first place," she told People about her lips at the time.
While Lisa has remained filler-free since, the mom recently acknowledged that her experience with lip injections played a role in her latest venture, Rinna Beauty.
"I always say, jokingly, that my lips have a career of their own," Lisa told DailyMail.com. "The feedback on them was not always positive. There was a time when people were negative. But I think they became accepted when I said, 'These are my lips! This is the way they are.'"
Lisa's new beauty line, which is centered around her iconic lips, was a long time in the making. As DailyMail.com reports, Lisa tried to launch the brand five times over ten years, but "it always fell apart."
On her 2020 launch, she explained, "It really was pure tenacity, I don't like to take no for an answer," she shared. "And I was very passionate about it so I kept going."
Rinna Beauty officially debuted on November 30 with three lip kits, which include a lipstick, gloss, and lip liner in three signature shades: Legends Only, No Apologies, and Birthday Suit.
