Sutton Stracke Clarifies a Misconception About Her Style These Days
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member responded to a certain suggestion about her recent fashion choices.
Sutton Stracke is known to rock statement-making looks, from a dotted mesh panel dress with cat silhouettes across the chest to big bow dresses and more. Because of her proclivity for high-end fashion, which often takes big risks, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills beauty has faced style critiques over the years.
In a May 2022 interview with Page Six, the owner of The SUTTON Concept boutique in West Hollywood opened up about how she handles the criticism. “At first, it was hurtful when people didn’t seem to understand my fashion choices,” she revealed to the outlet at the time. “But now, I don’t pay any mind to comments and whatnot… I love couture — and couture is all about slow fashion and meticulous detail… It doesn’t translate to a lot of people. People don’t understand it all the time because it’s a little bit different — but I’m a little bit different.”
More recently, Sutton again answered to people’s thoughts about her style, this time clearing up a certain misconception.
Sutton Stracke clears up something about her style
On September 11, Sutton took to Instagram to share a snapshot of herself and a friend at an event for the Brighter Days Foundation in Columbus, Ohio. For the occasion, Sutton wore a black minidress with sculptural detail around the neck and bustline, pairing the look with black heels with silver buckle embellishments.
Meanwhile, a follower suggested in the comments that the boutique owner must have “gotten a stylist,” noting that her outfits were “killer” lately.
“I’m my own stylist,” Sutton responded, adding a kissing face cat emoji for good measure. Touché!
Sutton Stracke’s New Business Venture Involving Cynthia Bailey
In addition to showing off her fabulous fashions, Sutton is also making big moves in the fashion industry.
Earlier in August, the retailer took to Instagram to reveal that her BFF Cynthia Bailey would be the “first [sustainable fashion curator]” with her company Sutton Brands: “We welcome Cynthia with open arms and couldn’t wish for a better designer to join our team of [circular fashion] and [sustainable] warriors to help change our earth,” Sutton shared in the caption.
Then, at Jovani’s New York Fashion Week debut on September 8, Sutton spoke exclusively with BravoTV.com about the concept of the project, further detailing its dealings in sustainability.
“A lot of people don’t know that 70% of what is returned online goes into landfills,” Sutton explained. “In order to be truly sustainable, it has to be recycled back into fashion — so that’s what we’re doing.” Sutton added how Cynthia has her “own line” with Sutton Brands as its first “celebrity curator.”
“She started with home goods, so she’s doing bedding [and] sheets [and] a duvet and comforter […] She’s gonna add more and more,” Sutton explained. “We want to be sustainable, we want to be good for the earth. We want to spread this message out […] to get fashion back in check, because we’re trying to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.”
Sutton added: “It’s not a collaboration, because Cynthia’s in charge of her line. It’s all hers. She gets to choose what she wants to put her label on. It’s really being mindful with what she wants to do with her label, and circulating it back into the fashion world.”
