Adriana's Two Loves
Adriana dishes on her big day and how it felt to see Frederic and Alex waiting for her at the ceremony.
This has been a long journey. There were so many obstacles to conquer, issues to work through, a lot of growing up, and even some significant losses occurred before I could walk down the aisle with Frederic.
All of those emotions added to the stress of planning a wedding, and I was literally crumbling down as my wedding day approached. My physical limit was pushed and I was very drained and feeling weak; just one hour before the wedding I felt like fainting and believed I wasn't going to make it, because I had no more strength to carry on physically. After laying down for almost an hour (and getting a shot of vitamins), I finally felt like I could push myself and not miss my own wedding! After all, it took so much to arrive at this day. After I got some energy back, the excitement and adrenaline rushed through my body and I found my smile again and headed to the church were the two loves of my life awaited -- mon chéri, Frederic, and my beloved son, Alex.
I was overwhelmed with joy as we marched toward Frederic, who had tears in his eyes as he watched us walking toward him. This moment was priceless and I just knew right then and there. It felt really good to be myself -- I felt ready, I felt blessed, and I finally felt COMPLETE.[video_clip_url:http://player.theplatform.com/p/PHSl-B/yT7k3t_YLXoZ/select/K00Bd9blOYdi?form=html]Another very special moment during our wedding was hearing my son recite a poem by Maya Angelo titled “Alone.” I think this poem pretty much sums what's important in this life, and I would like to end my blog today with it.
Lying, thinking
Last night
How to find my soul a home
Where water is not thirsty
And bread loaf is not stone
I came up with one thing
And I don't believe I'm wrong
That nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone.
Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.
There are some millionaires
With money they can't use
Their wives run round like banshees
Their children sing the blues
They've got expensive doctors
To cure their hearts of stone.
But nobody
No, nobody
Can make it out here alone.Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.
Now if you listen closely
I'll tell you what I know
Storm clouds are gathering
The wind is gonna blow
The race of man is suffering
And I can hear the moan,
'Cause nobody,
But nobody
Can make it out here alone.
Alone, all alone
Nobody, but nobody
Can make it out here alone.
Much love to all,
