Margaret Josephs Weighs In on Teresa Giudice’s “Very Large” Wedding Hair

We have Bravolebrities to thank for some of the most gorgeously over-the-top wedding looks of all time, but when it comes to the most memorable wedding hairstyles, one Real Housewife in particular comes to mind. Of course, we’re talking about Teresa Giudice’s $10,000 ultra-voluminous updo that was held afloat by 1,500 bobby pins.

It seems everyone has an opinion on the unforgettable look, including Teresa’s longtime pal Dolores Catania, who reasoned, “It was f--king Teresa, OK? … She could pull it off.” And on last night’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, a special Reading Room–themed edition taped at BravoCon 2022, the host asked another The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member to weigh in.

“What did you really think of Teresa’s wedding hair?” Andy asked Margaret Josephs. “You were there. You saw it in person.”

Marge replied, “When she walked out, it was from a distance. It didn’t look as big. But as it got closer — you know, when things get closer, it looks a lot bigger. And I was crying because she did look great, but I said to [my husband] Joe [Benigno], ‘Holy crap, how is she holding her head up?’ … You know, it was very large and she has very strong neck muscles. I don’t know what else to really say.”

In August, the hairstylist behind Teresa’s towering ’do, Lucia Casazza, chatted with Andy Cohen for his Sirius XM radio show about creating the look, as reported by Page Six. Casazza said the style used more than 1,500 bobby pins and cost nearly $10,000 to complete (including a custom mesh piece featuring $7,000 worth of real human hair extensions). Casazza said Teresa wanted her hair to be “over the top” — and she delivered.
