Jennifer Aydin Tries to Introduce Her Kids to Healthier Snacks: "It's Not Going Well"
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member is struggling to get her five children on board with more nutritional eats.
Jennifer Aydin is attempting to help her family stay healthy, but it's not exactly going according to plan.
"Trying to find healthy snacking alternatives so I'm making the kids try different yogurts," The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member captioned a March 2 photo on her Instagram Story of one of her sons with six partially-eaten yogurt containers in front of him. "It's not going well."
Because Jennifer has been known to provide enviable snacks, it's not surprising that the new food choices may be an unwelcome change for her five kids, Justin, Jacob, Christian, Gabriella, and Olivia. Recently, Jennifer posted a video to Instagram of her and Olivia making chocolate covered strawberries while simultaneously heating up hibachi-style food for Jacob.
"Olivia Was in the mood to make chocolate covered strawberries," she wrote at the time. "Even though we weren’t prepared, we improvised and made it work."
While celebrating Halloween in 2019, Jennifer proved that hers is the go-to house for the best treats as she prepared to hand out candy to visitors. She likely went above and beyond any expectations, stocking up on an assortment of full-size treats ranging from Starbursts to Reese's to Twix Bars to M&Ms to Airheads.
Adopting a healthier lifestyle has been an ongoing priority for Jennifer, who previously had a breast reduction, breast lift, and liposuction done by her husband, Bill. In a 2019 interview with Page Six, Jennifer shared that fellow RHONJ cast member Teresa Giudice inspired her to change her diet.
"I was stalking Teresa's Instagram and I saw how amazing Milania looked, and they kept tagging their nutritionist [Absolute Nutrition Counseling],” Jennifer said at the time. “I contacted them and they came over to my house over with their colleague who is the chef that prepares your meals. They basically work together calculating my macros, and how many calories I’m gonna have every day."
"It’s a work in progress," Jennifer added. "I’ll have a week where we go out to a few dinners and going out to dinner is part of my demise. I see it coming right on right away. So then I stop for a second, I’m like, ‘Okay, I gotta calm down. We gotta make some better choices, and I gotta get back on the bandwagon.'"
