Dolores Catania Explains Why She Didn't Tell Her BF David About Her Tummy Tuck

Last summer, Dolores Catania revealed that she got a tummy tuck, liposuction, and a butt lift. After the procedure, The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom was very open about her experience. But before the surgery, not many people were aware of Dolores' plans to go under the knife — including her boyfriend, David Principe. 

During the Season 11 RHONJ premiere (get a sneak peek in the clip above), Dolores revealed that things have been a bit "dicey" between her and David since she got the plastic surgery. Part of it is due to the fact that Dolores waited until last minute to tell David about her procedure. 

In the video above, Dolores explained that she did not inform her doctor boyfriend (David helps women deliver high-risk pregnancies) about her plastic surgery until the night before "because David is not for elective surgery." Dolores also shared that David is sometimes "a little off the charts" when it comes to her plastic surgery. "You went on and on and on and on and on about it," she recalled to him. 

The doctor's strong reaction came from a place of concern. "Dolores, you didn't need it," he replied. "God forbid you had a complication."

David wasn't the only person Dolores left out of the loop. The mom of two kept a very low profile before getting work done. In an Instagram Live session in July 2020, Dolores shared, "I had people that were so against it that I didn't tell them. I really didn't talk to anybody about what I was doing until the night I was leaving."

At the time, Dolores also discussed why she decided to get the surgery. "I had extra skin that when I could pull it out like this, it bothered me. I can't pull nothing now," she said. "I have no regrets at all — none," she added.
