Dolores Catania Spills the Details on Her NYC Bachelorette Pad: "It's Really Cute"
The RHONJ mama opened up about life in her new place, which is "right by" RHONY newbie Leah McSweeney's apartment.
It sounds like Dolores Catania is totally living it up in her chic Manhattan bachelorette pad.
Back in February, The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member shared the news that she had an apartment in New York City. At the time, she had planned to share with her son, Frankie, as he completed an internship at an investment bank. On the July 15 episode of the Kickin’ Back with Kelly podcast, Dolores explained that Frankie’s internship was canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but that she’s still taking full advantage of her new spot in the city.
Dolores explained that the apartment is a sublease, so she kept it for herself when Frankie’s plans fell through.
“I decorated it so adorable,” said Dolores. “It’s my bachelorette pad! Cute rooftop, and you know, I’m very excited to have it.”
Dolores continued to gush about her cute new hangout, explaining that it’s the first true home that’s ever felt like it’s totally her own.
“I don’t have dog hair there. No dogs pee on the floor,” she said. “I’ve never had my own thing. I’ve never had my own room in my life. My kids slept with me always. And now I have the dogs that sleep with me. On occasion, Frankie will come in the middle of the night and sit and will talk to me, but I’ve never had the privacy of my own place, ever. At 49, I have my own little place, and it’s really cute.”
Dolores also mentioned that before the pandemic, she was spending lots of time in the city, and now feels like she has a second home in New York.
“I was staying in the city sometimes three, four nights a week in hotels. Right before all this, I was at the top of my thing. I was at every fundraiser, I had met so many amazing new people. I had friends in the city. I had a whole life in the city before all this happened, and I was really living it up,” she said. “I didn’t have to get home to kids. I had a girl who would stay with my dogs when I didn’t want to come home, and I couldn’t have been happier. So, I thought it was practical to get a place, and then everything shut down. I don’t care. I’m enjoying it.”
One of Dolores’s new friends in the city is a familiar face: The Real Housewives of New York City newbie Leah McSweeney. Although the two ‘Wives haven’t met in person, they do keep in contact. Dolores even mentioned that her new apartment is near Leah’s.
“I DM her and I text her,” Dolores said of her friendship with Leah. “We’re definitely gonna meet up. She’s right by me.”
