Emily Simpson was extremely serious when she said earlier this spring that her new workout routine is all about "consistency and will power." This Orange County attorney is committed to the gym after a flare-up with arthritis caused her to quit exercising and gain weight.

"Last year my arthritis got so severe (specifically my left hip) that I became really depressed and stopped working out period. It was painful to move, so I basically stopped moving at all," The Real Housewives of Orange County beauty explained on Instagram yesterday. "Not a great idea. I gained 20-25 pounds over the past year and added more unnecessary weight to my hip ...which made it even harder to move and get around."

Emily then shared some alarming health news: "It looks like a hip replacement is in my VERY near future," she wrote. But she's not stopping her vow to keep active. She started a new workout program with trainer Paulina Taylor Hefferan and a new diet, and she's already seeing major results of her healthy lifestyle.

"I have followed @paulinastein for a couple years and decided to finally reach out to her. I joined her 12 week fitness program and I’m already down 10 pounds. I have a long way to go but she’s pushing me outside of my comfort zone and I know that even though it hurts to move, in order to combat this arthritis I need to get weight off my hip and knees and continue to move daily," she vowed.

Emily snapped a few photos of her 7 a.m. workouts, and the moves that she loves to hate. "I hate stairs. They are my nemesis," she wrote, along with a photo of her recovery after the dreaded stair climbs with weights.

"Still a long way to go! But I'm getting stronger each day," the always body-positive and inspiring mom wrote. You go, Emily!
