Within the past few months, celebs like Brielle Biermann, Scheana Shay, and Brittany Cartwright have clapped back at distasteful body-shaming comments on their social media accounts. Now, Heather Dubrow is also letting it be known that she will not stand for any nasty remarks about her family.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

But first, a bit of background: On Sunday, March 3, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum posted a photo of herself and her youngest daughters, Katarina and Collette (aka Kat and Coco), en route to a mother-daughter luncheon. At the event, Heather's youngest daughter, Coco, looked adorable in a white linen pantsuit paired with a pink bowtie and vans. While we love Coco's chic getup, some people weren't so kind. The fabulous family portrait drew in a slew of uncalled for reactions about Coco's attire.

Many people asked derogatory questions like, "Is she a boy or a girl?" Heather revealed on her podcast, Heather Dubrow's World. Instead of engaging with the mean-spirited Instagram users, Heather took to her podcast to send a powerful message. "First of all, um, why do you care? Who’s talking about a child on social media like that?" she began. She clapped back at those who posted inappropriate remarks calling them "incredibly unenlightened."

She also brought up a valid point: "And not to mention the fact, did no one see Kyle Richards in that fabulous black tuxedo with her hair all slicked back? Was anyone commenting to her that, you know, she identifies as a boy?"

Still, not all of the feedback on Coco's look was negative. "A lot of people wrote a comment that I love, which was saying clothing doesn’t have gender, it’s just clothing," the OC mom revealed. Heather made it very clear that she will always have her daughter's back. "I love [the suit] and I have news for you. I don’t care if [Coco] likes girls, boys, both, none. I don’t care who or what she likes as long as she’s a good, functioning, happy, independent, amazing, human being. That is all I care about. And she loved her suit so much," Heather shared.

Heather also shared that Coco picked out the entire outfit herself: "She is completely fine being her own person and wearing what she likes and what feels comfortable to her."

We think Coco looked positively darling. In fact, we'll be taking some style cues from the mini fashionista because pantsuits are totally having a moment right now. Just ask Lisa Rinna or Kyle Richards
