"Here is the big reveal of Sky’s new bunk bed she wanted for Christmas!" Gretchen wrote in part. "She graduated from her toddler bed to a Big Girl bed! (And yes I cried when we took it down)."
Explaining it took "3 days to build this bed," Gretchen declared, "The whole secret project was a success!"
After thanking her family for helping with Skylar as they worked on the room, Gretchen added, "We were up late finishing on Christmas Eve, [and] doing the final touches, but we got it done!"
"These moments will forever be imprinted on my heart!" she concluded. "Love making magic happen for our little girl! You are the best Daddy [Slade] staying up late 3 nights building this from scratch."
Of course, Gretchen added a fun holiday twist on the Christmas surprise, putting a giant bow and ribbon on the bedroom door and footprints meant to belong to Santa Claus on the floor leading to the room.
Gretchen Rossi's Christmas decor
It seems the little one is just as into Christmas decor as her mama. On November 28, Gretchen shared a peek at the outside of her home decorated for the holiday season. “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Smiley Household!” Gretchen captioned her Instagram post. “Thank you to [Gutter Builders of America] for making all of Skylar’s dreams come true with a beautiful display of red [and] white lights on the house! She loves the wreath, the candy canes, reindeer [and] sleigh! We really want Sky to have the best memories of her childhood being magical and fun.”
As Gretchen revealed on December 21, the inside of the home is just as festive. In the caption of a video that showed her Christmas tree and holiday decor, Gretchen wrote, "The last two years I have done a blue, white, gold, and silver tree and I have just loved changing it up from my regular colors!"
