Kelly Dodd Found a Drugstore Dupe for Her Favorite Mascara: "I Think It's Better"
The RHOC mom's new go-to mascara is only $10 a tube.
Kelly Dodd has been switching things up when it comes to at-home beauty during self-quarantine. First, The Real Housewives of Orange County mom revealed that her fiancé, Fox News correspondent Rick Leventhal, treated her to a much-needed pedicure. Now, she’s discovered that she’s “obsessed” with a mascara she picked up at the drugstore.
In an April 30 Instagram Story, Kelly excitedly shared her new discovery with her followers, noting that the new, cheaper option worked just as well as the one she usually uses.
“I went to Rite Aid and I purchased this very inexpensive mascara,” Kelly said, holding up a tube of L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Makeup Lash Paradise Mascara, and explaining that normally, Lancôme’s Hypnôse Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara is her go-to for great lashes. “I wanted to see if I could see a difference.”
Kelly then noted that on one eye, she had applied the L’Oreal Paris mascara, while she had used Lancôme on the other.
“I’m telling you, I can’t really see a difference. I’m liking this very inexpensive mascara,” said Kelly. “I think works perfectly. Actually, I think it’s better than the Lancôme. So, great purchase this one right here.”
For reference, Lancôme’s Hypnôse Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara typically sells for about $27.50 at Sephora, while you can grab a tube of L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Makeup Lash Paradise Mascara for just $10 on Amazon. It’s nearly a third of the price!
Kelly isn’t the only one who has been turning to less-expensive options while she’s spending more time at home. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Kyle Richards revealed that she’s been touching up her roots with a $13 Clairol Root Touch-Up Hair Color Creme.
