Gretchen Rossi & Slade Smiley Allegedly Busted for Selling Misleading CBD Products
The Real Housewives of Orange County alumni have reportedly since made some updates to their product labels.
CBD is everywhere these days. Beauty products, candies, transdermal patches, and more are now infused with the popular cannabinoid. The goodies are flying off the shelves as shoppers hope to take advantage of their purported healing perks, which are said to range from better sleep to decreased anxiety to pain relief. But are these goods actually delivering the benefits they claim to? And what's more, how much CBD do they actually contain?
Inside Edition recently sent samples of several popular CBD products to a lab to have their CBD levels tested, and found that in many cases, the lab report did not match what's advertised on the label. Included in the investigation was a product from Bio Reigns, which The Real Housewives of Orange County alums Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley sell.
Though labels on one of the the Bio Reigns tinctures claimed that the product has 560 mg of CBD and curcumin, lab tests allegedly indicated that it had about 1 mg, according to Inside Edition. When questioned about the discrepancy Inside Edition claims it found, Slade insisted the amount on the label is correct because "that's the amount that's in the bottle."
Gretchen added, "If this label is misleading in any way, I want to make sure that we change it."
The product's label has since been changed, Inside Edition reports.
