Shannon Beador Reveals What Helped Her Lose Weight for Good

Shannon Beador is feeling great these days — and, might we add, looking great, too. The Real Housewives of Orange County mom has worked hard to get in her best shape ever, and she's ultimately shed a whopping 40 pounds after yo-yo diets yielded some results but they never stuck. Finally, she said, "This is it."

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Peacock and the Bravo App.

So, what did it take to get back to what Shannon has called her "fighting weight?" The Orange County 'Wife spills her tips in the video above. And here's the good news: She insists that, "If I can lose 40 pounds, anybody can."

Spoiler alert: Shannon's not exactly keen on working out. (Yep, we can relate.) And while the Orange County 'Wife did put some literal sweat equity into shedding pounds, she told us in the video: "I'm going to tell you how you get rid of [excess weight]," she said. OK, we're all ears! Ready for it?

"Diet, diet, diet, diet, diet," Shannon shared.

She continued: "I broke two ribs, and I couldn't exercise for a couple weeks, and that's where I lost the bulk of my weight." After turning to the side so the cameras could catch her slim silhouette, Shannon thought that diet tip bore repeating: "It's what you eat. It's what you put into your body," she said. Now, that doesn't mean a 24/7 stream of celery juice

"You can eat flavorful, good food that's going to satisfy you," she said. "You can eat all day if you want! You just have to choose the right things to put into your body... I always heard that it was 80 percent diet and 20 percent exercise, and yeah, do I have some flab that I want to tone up? Absolutely. But I think it's like 90 percent or more diet."

Going through her own weight-loss process helped inspire Shannon's Real for Real Cuisine line, as well. "I took the principles of losing weight that I followed to my food line, and that is that you can have a protein, you can have a vegetable, and you can even have a little bit of starch, and have a satisfying and flavorful meal. You can put seasoning on your food. You can have a sauce on your food. You just need to know what the ingredients are in those."

So here's the bottom line, folks: "If you eat clean, you're going to lose weight."

And it definitely worked for Shannon.
