Robyn Dixon: I Definitely Don’t Believe in Fairy Tales Anymore
Robyn Dixon thinks it'll take some work to get right with ex Juan Dixon.
Bravotv.com: After Gizelle’s clash with Charrisse, did how Gizelle acted affect your ability to trust her as a friend?
Robyn Dixon: Gizelle, Charrisse and I all started off as good friends, in fact, Charrisse introduced me to Gizelle. So, when Gizelle spread rumors about Charrisse’s marriage in the manner that she did, it completely shocked me. It really made me think about my friendship with Gizelle and the chances of something similar happening between us. I wondered just what would it take for me to do or say to get on Gizelle’s bad side and to be on the receiving end of her tongue lashing. But after really thinking about it, I think my friendship with Gizelle is very strong and really can’t imagine anything like that ever happening between us.
Bravotv.com: Did you realize that what you had said was also on national tv when you said that you hadn’t done that in interview?
RD: Hahahaha, yes in that moment, I immediately realized what I just said and that everything I had said regarding the Charrisse/Gizelle situation was on national TV. So let me rephrase – it’s not like I went on a national television talk show and talked about her!!!
Bravotv.com: Tell us about Preakness and it calling back to your old life. Was it bittersweet to attend?
RD: The Preakness brings back so many memories of the good times, when life was carefree and money was plentiful. Attending Preakness was a tradition that my family and I had enjoyed for many years. Celebrities, athletes, and the who’s who of Maryland attended and had the time of their lives. It was very bittersweet to attend but it also brought me hope that one day soon, my struggles would be a distant memory.
Bravotv.com: What do you think about Ashley Darby's comments about your marriage in an interview saying you take a back seat to Juan?
RD: I can admit that I took a back seat to Juan in the past for many years. However, Ashley does not know me well enough nor long enough to know anything about Juan and I and what goes on in our relationship. Her comments are sloppy and a matter of opinion based on a couple of short conversations.
Bravotv.com: Do you think you can have the "fairy tale" with Juan?
RD: I definitely don’t believe in fairy tales anymore but I do believe that Juan and I are capable of getting to a very happy place. Our relationship is a lot deeper than just a short-lived relationship that barely makes it out of the honeymoon phase. We have known each other since we were 16 and have experienced a lot together. Our love is unconditional and has withstood many trials and tribulations. We will always be family. If we could just find time to "date" one another and enjoy each other’s company then we may get pretty close to that elusive fairy tale.
