Ashley Darby Responds to Criticism of Her Yard Work Attire: “It’s My Uniform”
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member shared her reasons for rocking a two-piece look while working in her backyard.
In July, we caught up with Ashley Darby as she took to her Instagram Stories to share some of her yard work duties at her home in Arlington, Virginia.
In the videos, The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member rocked a hot pink sports bra, matching pink leggings, white Converse sneakers, and a sun hat as she pushed a huge lawnmower back and forth. “The rain finally let up!” Ashley wrote over the clip, celebrating the weather that allowed her to dutifully clean up her backyard.
More clips in her Stories showed the mom of two cutting grass near the kids’ “playground” and working her way around the fence and the garden area. “So thankful,” she wrote over the third video.
While we loved what the Maryland mom wore to do her yard work, apparently she faced some criticism about her choice of clothing.

On August 13, Ashley shared her videos on TikTok and showed a comment from a user who critiqued the “two piece” Ashley wore to do chores.
“It’s my uniform. Just gotta protect the eyes and legs,” Ashley captioned the TikTok, explaining to her followers why she decided to wear the outfit.
What’s more, Ashley showed off another “two piece” set that she wore a couple days prior while tending to her yard.
“This love affair I have with my yard,” she captioned the TikTok, in which she donned a bright blue leopard-print sports bra and leggings with white socks and black sneakers.
The “Coffee and Love” singer again paired the style with her sun visor and sleek shades.

In February, we caught up with Ashley on RHOP as she brought us along on her journey of moving out of her shared home with her ex-husband, Michael Darby, and relocating to her new house in Arlington.
“I am so excited,” Ashley said in an interview on Season 7 Episode 17, which aired on February 5. “I walked through the door [and] I literally felt like I was at home.”
Though Ashley clarified that she did purchase the home with Michael, she noted in the episode that she was definitely making the home very much her own. “Because [Michael and I] are still married and buying this home, we are 50/50 owners,” she shared. “I think Michael and I are in agreement that this is Ashley Darby’s property, and Ashley Darby’s property only.”
