Candiace Dillard Bassett's Mom Has Lots of Opinions on the Decor in Her New House
After showing her mom her furniture, The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member quipped: "Send help!"
As we've learned over the years, Candiace Dillard Bassett's mom, Dorothy, has no problem making her opinion known. And on The Real Housewives of Potomac's September 19 episode, she did not hold back her thoughts on the decor in Candiace's new house.
"My mom comes to visit just as much, if not more, than she did when her name was on the deed," Candiace said in an interview. "But she has her own luxury room. I blame myself." While Dorothy seems to approve of her bedroom — which is complete with a cardboard cutout of herself, naturally — she isn't quite as fond of some other areas of the home.
During one particular visit, Dorothy seemed a bit confused about a new addition to the $1.1 million home."I know your sideboard, I was looking at a different one, but you did go with this one," she said. "I know it's a little distressed, but it's supposed to look like that?"
"Yes," Candiace explained, "the distressed look is in."
With that, Dorothy went on to comment on everything from Candiace's living room design plans to the decorative pillows on her sofa. She also had some thoughts on the sofa itself. "So you're going to keep this sofa in here?" she asked. "I guess it's nice, but it's like for a first apartment or something." Candiace quickly disagreed: "No, it's not."
As Candiace explained that her mom's visit during the week of her music video shoot was "adding to [her] stress," she joked, "Send help."
