When Gina Kirschenheiter was first separating from her husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, The Real Housewives of Orange County mom rented a small casita to stay in during weekends, when Matt would come down from Woodland Hills to stay in their Coto de Caza house and be with their three kids. Her friends and parents worried about Gina being in such a small space to herself, but Gina felt that it helped her and Matt give her kids a sense of parenting continuity and cohesiveness if they both spent time with their children in the family home.

Gina has since sold the Coto de Caza home for $875,000 and settled into a beautiful new home with plenty of space for her and her kids to stretch out and express themselves, but she took a moment to think semi-fondly of the cozy casita era with a throwback photo on Instagram.

We've got to hand it to Gina: It looks like she made the most of the space in the casita by adding cute black and white bedding and carpeting and a fuzzy faux fur throw rug to make it fun.

"Flashback to casita living! Glad that chapter is over but I did have fun there!" she wrote.
