Junice's Betrayal
Jewel gives her take on the confrontation with her sisters.
Bravotv.com: What did you think of Brooklyn’s car accident? You mentioned that this hasn’t been the first time, did it make you scared that she was falling back into old habits? Do you believe her story about how everything happened?
Jewel Tankard: I think that the accident was strange, because it happened early in the morning. To fall asleep early in the morning means that there are some missing pieces. It definitely made me concerned and very prayerful that she was not returning back into those habits. I believe a portion of her story was correct, but there are some missing pieces.
Bravotv.com: How did you feel planning the party with Junice? How was the tension at the photo shoot? Did you think Junetta was wrong to bring it up at the shoot?
Jewel: I felt like I had to be very careful when I was planning the party for Junice. I don't want to offend her and cause her any more hurt. At the photo shoot, the tension was very thick, because she was uncomfortable with Junetta asking about her moving. I don't think that it was a big deal for Junetta to ask Junice about moving.
Jewel: I felt that it was not the right time for her to get a Mercedes.
Bravotv.com: Do you think her financial priorities are in the right place?
Jewel: No, I don’t believe that her financial priorities were in place at the time. I do think that Brooklyn has matured so much, but that she still has a lot of maturing to do.
Bravotv.com: What kind of example do you think she is setting for her daughter?
Jewel: I think that Brooklyn is a great mother, and that she sets a good example when it comes to family, being loving, and being sweet.
Bravotv.com: At lunch with your sisters, Junice was extremely straight-forward with her feelings. How did you feel about it? Do you think that Junice was trying to turn Junetta on you? Did you feel betrayed?
Jewel: She was very straight forward, but it was very strange because it was the first time I heard any of that. My thought was, "Why are you bringing up old stuff and how it is relevant to your move?" Yes, I think Junice was trying to turn Junetta against me. I did feel betrayed but I understand. Bravotv.com: Ben and Jewel: what did you think of Brooklyn buying the Escalade? What did you think of the other children’s reaction to it?
Jewel: I was glad we got a new Escalade, but I was concerned about her spending so much money. I feel like the other children's reaction to it came about because they thought she went back into her old habits as a means to be able to purchase the Escalade.
