Padma Lakshmi Dishes on Her All-Time Favorite Emmy Looks
The Top Chef host is a red-carpet pro.
The 2017 Emmys are just around the corner, which means celebs like Top Chef judge Padma Lakshmi are beginning to plan their looks for the major Hollywood event. And in honor of the upcoming award show, Emmy-nominated Padma took a recent trip down memory lane, sharing the tales behind her stunning red-carpet looks.
In a recent interview with Variety, Padma shared the inspiration behind her past six Emmy looks. While we personally love all them all, Padma certainly has her favorites.
2010 was a memorable year for Padma and the whole Top Chef crew. Here, Padma donned a navy Carolina Herrera frock, accesorized with jewlery from the Padma collection. “This is an Emmy dress I will always love because Top Chef took home the Emmy that year,” Padma told Variety.
Padma also listed her 2013 KaufmanFranco white gown as another one of her “all-time favorites.” “It’s completely backless, and it wasn’t even that tight, so I literally felt like I was wearing a nightgown,” she said. “The look was inspired by iconic [Richard] Avedon portraits of Veruschka in the desert.”
And then of course, there was last year’s sparkly number. Padma looked liked a winner in this dazzling gown created by Indian-American designer Naeem Khan. “This dress made me feel so confident, like I was dipped in silver,” she said.
Whether it’s a sexy backless dress or a bandaged gown, Padma always looks amazing on the red carpet. Heck, the former model could even wear garbage bag and make it look like it's worth a million bucks.
Now, the only questions is: what will Padma wear this year at the Emmys? We can't wait to find out!
